Yesterday at the construction site while we were tossing rocks and dirt to create the base for the building's concrete slab, we had a surprise worship band that sang for us while we worked. Three Haitian kids with a guitar! They were awesome singers and helped keep everyone moving during the day.
We noticed the guitar was missing a string, but It didn't slow them down a bit. After sharing the story last night during God's Sightings, Dr. Jimmie-John donated his extra set of spare guitar strings. We were VERY late getting to the site and if the worship kids showed up again, I didn't want to waste any time. I immediately pulled them aside, thanked them for them generously sharing thir time and talents with us yesterday. and shared the gift of strings. To say they were effusive with their Thank You's woould be an understatement.
Later during a small break in the work, Capt. Morgan, a co-conspirator in the Super Secret Mission, took the time to put the new strings on and tuning them. It was great to see the amount of joy that sharing such a simple thing could help create.
Today I got to help with the kids Bible school and had fun with the children.
Laloo.
