Look Mom, I've Made New Friends!

Who knew that a ninety degree day, some sun, and a bunch of near-death driving experiences could bring a group as close as us. As a matter of fact, the majority of our posse is currently gathered around the upstairs balcony of New Life, discussing every one of our embarrassing, hilarious life moments. From peanut butter tales, to cop encounters, and for all those who know mine, the "Skroving" story, just names a few. I guess today was just an emotional day because we also had one of the deepest conversations I have ever had in all eighteen years of my life about four hours ago. We went from talking about planets, to the story of creation, to the probing questions and doubts revolved around our Christian religion. Even though I've only known these people for the short five days that we've been here in Haiti, I honestly feel like I could trust them with my life. We've had hours of long conversations that bring about tears, from both laughter and inspiration, and it is something I will never forget. Maybe it's the sun, or maybe it's the too-good-to-be-true homemade food, but these people have strewn bonds with me and I cannot emphasize how grateful I am to experience such an awesome week with these people.
